Sometimes, a landscaped area is more than just a visually pleasing element of a community. Sometimes, it’s part of that community’s story.
Such is the case with the landscaped area in Oxnard’s Cypress Pointe HOA that was submitted by Community Manager Karen Furnish for Stay Green’s Spring Landscape Makeover Contest. The winning entry is a portion of the Cypress Pointe landscape that’s dedicated to a key figure in the community’s establishment.
“John Green was the first Board President of Cypress Pointe HOA, and after he passed away, the community wanted to honor him by making a little garden and a little bench,” Karen wrote in her entry submission. “It is a focal point of the community. It would be nice to remove some of the grass and plant ficus trees and phormiums and fill in with mulch – and make it a lot more water friendly!”
We thank Karen for her excellent entry submission and the Stay Green team is looking forward to helping Cypress Pointe spruce up its landscaped tribute to its first Board President. We are honored!
We encourage our community manager partners to keep an eye out for the summer edition of our Spring Landscape Makeover Contest. Details coming soon! Meanwhile, please make sure to visit the Stay Green Community Manager’s Garden Shed where you can find seasonal information, tips and tricks geared toward community managers and their clients.
