The following is a copy of a press release issued by Stay Green:
Building on its track record and culture of safety, Stay Green Inc. recently brought together more than 350 team members for its second annual “Training for Safety and Success” event, in which they broadened their knowledge and participated in training and equipment recertification sessions that will help them continue to safely serve Stay Green clients throughout Southern California.
The event was held over two days at Stay Green’s flagship branches in north Los Angeles County and south Los Angeles County, and brought together team members from eight Stay Green branches in the Southland. The training ran a wide gamut of topics, from ensuring personal safety through proper body mechanics to safely operating the powered equipment that is part and parcel of working in the landscape industry.
You might say the event demonstrates that Stay Green’s safety record is no accident.
“Our excellent track record isn’t something that just happens,” said Stay Green CEO Chris Angelo. “It’s part of our core values and our company culture. We place a high priority on safe operations, and we take proactive measures on an ongoing basis to help our team members possess and maintain the skills, knowledge and equipment they need to serve our clients in a healthy, injury-free manner.”
The recent Training for Safety and Success event is part of that ongoing effort, Angelo said. “In an industry like ours, team members need to be familiar with many aspects of workplace safety, as well as safe equipment use and preventive maintenance. It also reinforces the knowledge, values and behaviors we strive to maintain as part of our company’s overall culture of safety and efficiency.”
Stay Green has gained national recognition for its safety record and programs. In 2016, the company earned an Overall Safety Achievement Award from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP).
The company chronicled the recent Training for Safety and Success event with a special video showing the team members and training personnel in action. The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/z2srElG50es.
Angelo added, “Stay Green’s work environment, and training and recertification programs like this one, are an important part of showing our employees and our clients alike that we care about ‘walking the walk’ when it comes to safety and efficiency.”
